Once again, I went to Lumsa to visit the Lodge and the school, and to observe that all the work done in recent years is bearing fruit. Teacher Pemba, as we call him, perfectly fulfills his role as a professional teacher.
I dedicated myself to teaching crochet to anyone who wanted to participate, and a group of women, boys, girls, and men came. Everyone wanted to learn to crochet. Next time, the intention is to teach them how to sew a button and hem trousers.
With the school children, we formed three groups and went to collect plastics around the village. There are more and more each time. When I first went there, as there was no road, they had almost no plastic products, no bottles, no bags, nothing. Now, about three years ago, with the arrival of the road, small grocery stores are opening with different plastic containers, and since no one teaches them the recycling process, they throw everything by the wayside. Pemba is starting to educate them on environmental issues.
In Kathmandu, I visited a Cashmere factory. The operation of the entire process is interesting, from obtaining Himalayan goat wool, mainly from Mongolia, through spinning, dyeing in different colors, winding into skeins, and weaving scarves, shawls, socks, sweaters, etc.
