On this occasion and on the occasion of the Lodge ceremony in Lumsa, Ban and Oriol, members of the foundation, were encouraged to come.
The Lodge is now finished. Some details are missing. From now on we will dedicate ourselves to education.
The plan would be:
1. In the first year, reinforce class five at Lumsa.
2. Then, the sixth grade in Solnasa, the town where the secondary school is located where the boys and girls from Lumsa have to go after the fifth grade.
3. Some of them, perhaps ready for new training in Kathmandu and who would have the possibility of receiving a university study scholarship from the Foundation.
To get here, we thought:
1. Concentrating education in Lumsa and Solnasa, which has meant that we have had to reduce the salary of two teachers from two distant towns.
2. A good method could be the screening of documentaries in the meeting room. They already had a projector that will go on the ceiling and a banner, which will act as a white screen.
3. Documentaries could cover various subjects such as geography, history, science, etc. For adults in Nepali, plus a basic English-Nepali program. And for students, in English. We believe it is easier to learn visually.
4. We move the computers to the library so that there is more space and we give it more utility.
5. Professor Pemba has received a salary increase to coordinate the eight surrounding villages so that all children have the opportunity to access the cinema. He will also be given a course in Kathmandu to strengthen his English and other skills.
6. We do not rule out that the accommodation could be a relaxation center with yoga, massages and a jacuzzi.
The inauguration ceremony of the Lodge was held on April 4th. Early in the morning, a visit was made to the new monastery, which was badly damaged by the 2015 earthquake. The event was then held and was attended by a large part of the town. Closing with a dinner and dance. In the afternoon we held a market selling clothes and shoes, which as always was a success.
We plan to invite Mingmar and his family to Andorra in the summer of 2024.
