A certain number of Solokumbu residents are looking for work in Dubai or Qatar, countries that provide them with a good annual salary to be able to support their families for a long time.
In 2020, due to the pandemic and the closure of borders, none of these inhabitants have been able to travel to work in these countries. This has meant that they have no source of income to survive. Their food has been running out.
This time, the aid has been the purchase of 17,000 kilos of rice that have been distributed to nine different villages and 570 families. We hope that during the summer they will be able to obtain some more food from their fields, as farmers that they are.
