Now, in May 2022, I am back in Kathmandu. As always, we had a meeting to take stock of the situation of the Lodge. Since Mingmar was sending me photos of the construction, everything indicated that it would be very advanced. Indeed, when we arrived in Lumsa, the Lodge was almost finished on the outside and inside, there were already two rooms covered with wood. Both the plumber and the electrician have done a very good and meticulous job. There are still final details left. Everyone is scrambling to finish it as soon as possible because the rainy season is approaching and the truth is that one day it rained so much that it seemed like there was a universal flood.
Back in Kathmandu, we bought the shower screens and other delicate materials like bathroom tiles. But I don’t know how they’ll get them up there by jeep, since the road is very precarious and muddy.
